Leather Story
Natural and rustic representation of leather
Pueblo leather surfaces are intentionally buffed to create a natural and rustic look. This process diminishes the irregularities and scratches of leather that might look out of place when smooth. The leather is repeatedly infused with oil in the tanning process to bring out the luster of the material.
The result is a ring leather binder that holds an enticing scent that is long-lasting. The unique texture and dynamic aging will speak to people who enjoy how leather transforms over time with use.
A leather with character and the most dynamic aging process
Both rustic and sophisticated, the process that created the leather for Pueblo was pioneered by long-established tannery BADALASSI CARLO in Tuscany, Italy to fully utilize and honor the animal and leather by-product in this craft.
Coming also from the rare shoulder leather of a cow, Pueblo leather creatively utilizes the less pristine parts and transform it into one of the most unique leather textures you’ll ever feel.
Savor the unique markings of authentic leather
Pueblo leather is developed to embrace the irregularities, wrinkles, and scratches that occur on natural leather. In fact, PLOTTER purposefully retains the individual differences of leather to show the charm of leather.
Leather is a natural material from animals, so it has individual differences and flavors that cannot be found in man-made products. The expression of the leather is not uniform due to blood vessels, small scratches, linear wrinkles, or uneven color bands while undergoing processing. This is a sign of genuine leather.
We hope you will enjoy the unique characters of your ring leather binder, including its original flaws, and the way it changes over time.
PLOTTER's Pueblo Leather Binders come with a certificate of quality. The tag, issued by the Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Association, guarantees that the leather is vegetable-tanned without the use of chemicals.
Expert craftsmanship in the flexible spine
The spine of the leather is strained and shaved meticulously to make it easy to open and close. Since the leather is genuine, the density of the transition varies depending on parts of the leather.
The thickness of the leather can vary from piece to piece because the craftsmen are making the products one by one according to the condition of the leather.
To keep the beauty of the leather as even as possible on the surface and on the underside, the craftsmen repeatedly insert a skiving blade and carefully shave off the leather pile by hand.
Maintenance and care
Pueblo leather requires no special maintenance because the leather will absorb the natural oil from your hands through frequent handling.
Brush or buff the leather with a special brush made of horse or pig bristles, or wipe it dry with a soft cloth to remove dust on the surface of the leather.
If the leather feels dry after setting it aside for a long time, you may apply only a small amount of leather cream and lightly buff the surface with a brush and clean cloth.
Be mindful: Excessive use of leather cream may cause stains, discoloration, and a rapid change in texture.
